Let’s look at some practical tip for your next psychic reading.

Remember, most psychic readings, especially those done by phone are on a time meter… or you pre-pay for a specific amount of minutes ahead of time, so it’s really important to make the MOST of what you DO ask, to make sure you get the most bang for your buck.

The first important tip I like to share with my clients (and readers) is this:

Ask questions that empower you.

Ask questions that INSPIRE you to take an action, or pick a path that moves you in the direction of your dreams.

For example?

“How can I” or “How DO I” questions are far superior to “Why?” questions.

“How can I improve the relationship I’m in to make sure we BOTH live and love the lives we deserve?” is a much better question than “Why isn’t my husband happy at home?”

One empowers both you and the psychic or medium with information and ACTIONS you can use to improve your life, the other… not so much:-)

It’s very similar when speaking to a medium.

Many people will ask – “why isn’t my mother, or father or loved one visiting me or letting me know they’re okay after they’ve crossed… ?”

A better question would be -

“How can I create an environment and cultivate an attitude that is conducive to making contact with my mother or father or loved one who has passed?”

Of course you don’t have to make your questions as formal as I just did.

Any type of empowering question that allows you to DO something with the information your psychic or medium offers is infinitely better than just getting lukewarm “hits” that make you feel better for a few minutes, but in the long run, aren’t the kind of answers you REALLY need.

Believe me…

A good psychic WORTH calling wants you to ask empowering questions.

They want to help you, heal your pains and problems and give you information that makes you whole.

Your job?

Know what you want to ask in advance. Write everything down.

A short list of 5-7 questions on a piece of paper (or computer screen) can make the difference between a mind blowing reading that you’ll never forget… and having a whole bunch of things that you FORGOT to ask, that you’ll immediately regret!

A psychic is simply someone who has a highly developed sense (or senses) that allows them to intuit, hone in or pick up information using someone outside of what are considered the 5 ordinary senses. Seeing future events, for example is called precognition, and is a well known and highly controversial psychic ability. Sensing and clearly seeing energy, or events that may be happening at a distance……..IN the very moment is called clairvoyance, (clear seeing) and is another totally different psychic ability.

Speaking to spirits, or having the ability to connect with, and communicate with the discarnate energy of those who have crossed over is a wholly different ability altogether, and one that is a bit more rare than more conventional psychic skills.

As a general rule, most psychics are NOT especially good mediums. (although all people have natural mediumistic ability)

Most mediums, however…..DO tend to have a bit more psychic ability as well, although many are not nearly as good at precognitive predictions, or clairvoyance, as they are with speaking to spirit.

1 – Mental Mediumship.

This is the typical thing we all see on TV, and is the most widely known way that a medium works. Quite simply, then simply “tune in” to your loved one in spirit, and act as a “medium” (hence the name) or intermediary between you, and your loved one on the other side

2 – Voice Mediumship

A bit more uncommon, and typically involves a trance state, where the medium will actually speak like, and sound like your loved one in spirit. I’ve experienced this a bunch of times and it IS very cool….although it can be a bit overwhelming as well, and typically is done in a more “seance” like setting. (and isn’t the type of mediumship that the famous “celebrities” tend to show off, although a few of them can do this type of reading as well, they don’t advertise it as it’s a bit more paranormal)

3 – Using spiritual props or tools

An example would be spirit drawings…..where a medium both gives you a reading, while drawing your loved one who is coming through. Or, another popular type of spiritual prop or tool for a reading would be tarot cards, or some sort of glass or crystal. Or, the MOST common would be a spirit board or even ouija, which is typically only done in a small group setting and not on the phone.

The good news?

There are thousands of great mediums out there…and many specialize in a specific type of reading, and finding someone you are comfortable with, either by phone or in person, is not tough. Traditionally phone readings are done by mental mediums……which are much more mainstream than the second two, and a much better place to start if you are making your first attempt to reach out to your loved one as well!
