Nightmare causes strong negative emotional response from the sleeper, typically horror and/or fear. Nightmares can have physical causes such as sleeping in an uncomfortable or awkward position, having a fever, or psychological causes such as anxiety and stress. Eating before bed, which triggers an increase in the body’s metabolism and brain activity, is a potential stimulus for nightmares.
I usually experience nightmares but it is true that eating before sleeping is not good..You put your self in trouble..

When our bodies sleep and we are out in the inner worlds we travel into the astral planes as well as other spiritual realms. When we are “dreaming”, we are actually experiencing what we are doing at that moment. If we are conscious (cs) that we are dreaming, then we will remember what we did. We travel to those realms of the astral planes according to our “vibrations”. All planes of existence have their own frequency rate. The earth being the lowest vibratory rate. Thus it is the “physical plane.” Nightmares are just when we happen to travel into the lower parts of the astral planes. Our thoughts, feelings and beliefs create our reality here on earth as well as the other realms.
The astral planes run on imagination and desire, and are a mix of ALL mankinds thoughts and ideas since the beginning of time. If you are CS in a dream, then you have the ability to change it at your will. Even a nightmare can be turned into something of your liking. I ALWAYS eat something before bed, especially carbs. The body needs fuel while it is lying there for 8hrs. I eat before bed, and always have wonderful “dreams”. I suggest to those who are watching their weight NOT to do this. Just change your thoughts before bedtime to nicer ones. Let the stress of the day go. Your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs create your reality here on earth as well as the dream worlds. Peace.

Reasons vary. There’s no single cause of nightmares and hence no single way of stopping them. Sometimes physical factors can be involved, such as illness and/or medication. Sometimes a nightmare reflects some unusual stress or trauma in the waking world. Sometimes it is just a result of small, niggling worries that have been ignored for too long. Nightmares rarely cause any direct physical harm beyond interrupted sleep. However they can still have an indirect impact. Even if you put the nightmare aside as “just a bad dream”, you can find yourself going through the next day feeling unusually irritable, moody or depressed. An unresolved nightmare can lead to a bad day. To stop nightmare, you can actually use lucid dreaming in which you will have the control over your nightmare.

YES! Lucid dreaming is the key. I have them all the time, but they are not like “dreams”, they are more like REAL. Even more so than waking life. I have found myself in an old run-down house at nightime. I am exploring the place when I come to a door leading into the basement. I realize “I am in a dream”, and decide to open this door and go down into the basement. I open the door, and I see a set of stairs leading down into the dark. I peer into the dark, and all of a sudden a hideous vampire girl flies up the stairs hissing and showing me her claws and fangs! She pauses right in front of me, and I look her in the eyes and say “hey, give me a hug”, and showing no fear. She becomes afraid of me, and flies off into the dark. Had I shown fear, then this would have become a “nightmare” for me, and I would have woken up at the point of her flying up the stairs! In lucid dreaming show no fear. But YES! Lucid dreaming is the key. Peace.
